Lighting Ideas To Illuminate “I Do’s”

planning, tips and how-tos, Wedding Planning

Suspended candles
Give your venue a kiss of a mid-summer night’s dream with candles that hang from the ceiling, or, if outdoors, the branches of tall floral arrangement or from the branches of trees. Place candles in mason jars for a whimsical tone. Canopy of lights
If your venue is a barn or has a high ceiling of wood beams, drape lights around the structure for an ethereal, romantic ambiance.
Outdoor chandeliers
Hanging chandeliers above a sleek table setting dressed in white will make the décor pop even more. Or hang them from the trees for a glamorous spring or summer wedding.
Cluster of candles
Sprinkle the middle of the table with dainty tea candles for effortless charm, or use clusters of pillars to draw the eye.
Lanterns or luminaries
For the adventurous couple who wants the guests to experience a good time from the first kiss to the bouquet toss, wish lanterns—an Asian tradition for good luck— are the perfect curtain call to a night of nuptials.
Bistro lights
For non-church nuptials, dress up the alter with lights for a pretty “I do.”
Taper candles
Tall, thin candles adorn the church aisle with class and rustic charm. They are understated and perfect for any wedding theme or venue.

From soft candle glow to chandeliers, these lighting options are sure to wow.

Creating ambiance that complements your vows on the big day starts with often-overlooked lighting. A touch of twinkle or sky of stars should illuminate the focal points of the wedding, from the altar to the cake to the first dance. Whether you like the lights down low or a fluorescent dance floor, these options will cast a glow.
