7 Stunning Veils

style, tips and how-tos

Perfect for the vintage-loving bride, the birdcage dates back to the post-World War II era. Depending on your dress, you can opt for accents or simple tulle. Every bride deserves to feel like a princess on her big day. Channel 1950’s icon and real life princess Grace Kelly with a veil that skims just below the elbows, like this one from David’s Bridal.
Classic and modern brides alike are embracing the blusher, which kisses the cheeks, like the name suggests. They frame the face in soft tulle and are attached to the crown of the head with a comb, perfect for pairing with an up-do, like this one from JoyandFelicity. To veil or not to veil? A wedding look completed with the romantic headdress known as the Juliet cap, like this one from Blair Nadeau Millinery, will certainly not end in tragedy. For all the playful brides who plan on spending most of the night on the dance floor, opt for a playful shoulder length veil that gives you the freedom to move in. This one from David’s Bridal is a perfect example. Princess Diana entered St. Paul’s Cathedral in a 24-foot long veil. While you don’t have to be royalty to be that level of glamour, you can make a dramatic walk down the aisle with a chapel-length veil, like this David’s Bridal version, that cascades form the crown of the head to the floor. Inspired by The Great Gatsby and the roaring 20’s, the feminine head wrap is a great accessory for an era-themed wedding. Some are adorned with flowers, long sashes of tulle, or accentuated with bead embroidery, like this one from GildedShadows.

These accessories can compliment the gown or be showstoppers on their own.

A bride’s veil should compliment her gown, as well as her personal style, unless she wants it to be the big eye catchers. These veils cater to the classic and the fashion forward, whether seeking a trailing train or a simple blusher.
