Kayla Martell and Kevin Gillis Jr. married on May 19, 2012, at historic Old Town Hall in Wilmington. The reception was held at World Cafe Live at the Queen in Wilmington. After she was crowned Miss Delaware 2010, Kayla attended the grand reopening of the theater and instantly knew the couple should be married there. Kayla and her mother handled most of the details, all the way down to the stationery and mason jar lit pathway. The Honey Badgers sang during the ceremony and the couple shared vows that they had written. Kayla and her father danced to her Miss America talent song, “The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson.
